Nishal Mohan

Nishal Mohan is the Founder and CEO of mohuman, where strategic initiatives for smart and connected communities have been developed over the past five years. In addition to leading mohuman, Nishal serves as the 2021 Entrepreneur in Residence at UC San Diego and holds the position of Consultative Director of Digital Equity at UC San Diego Extension. Nishal has played significant roles in various organizations such as Connected Communities Collaborative, where technology integration in local governments is prioritized, and the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships, contributing to policy innovation. Nishal’s leadership experience includes being a Board of Trustees member at the Federation of American Scientists, leading US Ignite's Smart Gigabit Communities Initiative, and founding Pandemic Academic and the Virtual Biosecurity Center. Nishal holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and a BA in Biology from Hunter College.
