Euan McDonald is a Biotechnology Engineer at uFraction8. Euan previously worked as an intern at IntelliDigest, where they worked on a project on valorisation of food waste, and published a white paper on 'Investigating the carbon footprint and industrial considerations for bio-nutrients and chemicals with applications in sustainable practices'. Euan has also worked as a student at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Glasgow, where they graduated with Upper Second-Class Honours in Molecular & Cellular Biology (MCB). Euan's experience includes bioinformatic and statistical analysis using RStudio, Microsoft Excel, HISAT2, Stringtie, DESeq2, Toppgene and Cytoscape, as well as lab experience including pipetting, cell transformation, PCR/qPCR, western blots and protein purification. Euan's Honours Project was on The effects of the drug GSK343 on Glioblastoma gene expression, where they used bioinformatic tools to investigate gene expression by both RNASeq analysis, gene ontology and pathway analysis.

Euan McDonald has a Master of Science in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Strathclyde, and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Glasgow. Euan also has certification from Sibbald Training Ltd in Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS), and certification from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in RYA Dinghy instructor, First Aid, and Powerboat Level 2.
