UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s mission is to preserve and strengthen the quality of Jewish life in Greater Toronto, Israel and around the world through philanthropic, volunteer and professional leadership. Year after year, UJA’s Annual Campaign, which currently raises approximately $60 million annually, allows UJA to care for the most vulnerable, build and strengthen Jewish identity and education, invest in Israel and overseas, and promote Jewish/Israel advocacy, while also creating infrastructure throughout the GTA that serves not only the Jewish community, but the community-at-large.

About the Opportunity

The role of Donor Relations Representative is to contact donors for their support during fundraising campaigns held throughout the year. This role requires you to be a front-line voice of UJA and to present yourself with knowledge, understanding, and compassion on every call. You should be able to use your heart and mind, along with respect and authenticity, to build donor trust and to be an advocate for the Jewish community and Jewish values. 

Reports to: Associate Director, Community Campaign Philanthropy 

The Donor Relations Representative is responsible for contacting donors for their support during fundraising campaigns held throughout the year. This role requires you to be a front-line voice of UJA and to present yourself with knowledge, understanding and compassion on every call. You should be able to use your heart and mind, along with respect and authenticity, to build donor trust and to be an advocate for the Jewish community and Jewish values.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact donors by phone to discuss their support and solicit donations during various fundraising campaigns throughout the year
  • Engage donors in meaningful conversation about UJA and its ongoing initiatives and campaigns while ensuring a positive donor experience
  • Work in collaboration with team members to ensure targets are on track and being met
  • Report to Associate Director on donor gifts and contact changes
  • Ensure Salesforce is maintained and kept up to date with donor information

Qualifications:

  • Excellent phone manner
  • Prior sales or fundraising experience
  • Superior customer service attitude
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
  • Familiarity with Excel and Outlook
  • Must be 18+ and have a high school diploma
  • Knowledge of UJA and the Toronto Jewish community a plus but not required
