John Barksdale III, PE, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. John started their career as an Electrical Engineer Intern at Rio Tinto in May 2009 and worked there until August 2009. In May 2010, they joined Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation as an Intermediate Engineer and remained in that role until December 2013. During their time at Bechtel, they gained valuable experience in engineering. In December 2013, John joined the City of Idaho Falls as an Electrical Engineer, where they served as the Project Manager for the rehabilitation of a 3.6 MW hydroelectric power plant and also planned, designed, and engineered a 25 MVA distribution substation. John stayed with the City of Idaho Falls until March 2017. John's most recent position is as an Engineer at Ulteig, where they started in April 2017.
John Barksdale III, PE, PMP has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical Engineering. John obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. John further pursued their academic career and obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho from 2011 to 2017.
In addition to their academic achievements, John has also obtained two significant certifications. John is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in November 2016. John is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho, which they achieved in May 2015 through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
