Caterina Schweidenback

Staff Scientist at Ultima Genomics

Caterina Schweidenback is a highly skilled scientist with extensive experience in biochemistry and molecular biology. Since February 2021, Caterina has served as a Staff Scientist at Ultima Genomics, following a tenure as a Senior Scientist at GenapSys, Inc. from March 2018 to February 2021, where optimization of solid-phase clonal DNA amplification and development of assays occurred. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Fellowships at Cornell University, focusing on gene regulation through high throughput assays, and at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where RNA localization mechanisms were studied. Additionally, Caterina served as an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University, teaching laboratory courses in biochemistry and physical chemistry. Caterina holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an ScB in Biophysics from Brown University.
