Alex Simpson

Alex Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning various finance roles. They currently work at Ultimate as the VP Finance, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to that, Alex was the Director of Finance at Ultimate from October 2022 to July 2023. Before joining Ultimate, Alex worked at Zeitgold (acquired by Deel) as the Head of Finance from May 2020 to August 2021, and as the Strategic Projects Finance Manager from June 2019 to May 2020. Alex also has experience as a Category Planning Manager at Zalando SE from August 2018 to June 2019. Before transitioning into the finance field, Alex pursued a Full Time MBA at the ESADE Business & Law School from September 2016 to July 2018. During this time, they co-founded a website called wertunow and held various leadership positions. Alex's earlier experience includes roles as a Finance Manager / Controller at Opera Mediaworks (later rebranded to AdColony) from January 2014 to August 2016, and as a Management Accountant from September 2012 to December 2013. They started their career at LDM Global as an Assistant Accountant from April 2010 to December 2011, and later served as the Finance Manager from January 2012 to September 2012. In this role, Alex was responsible for financial reporting, audit, treasury management, forecasting, and budgeting, and worked closely with the CEO on various projects.

Alex Simpson completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Esade from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained the qualification of a Qualified Accountant from ACCA between 2010 and 2015, specializing in accounting. Alex pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics with Study in Continental Europe at the University of Bristol from 2003 to 2007. In addition, Alex also earned a BSc in Economics from Université Pierre Mendès-France (Grenoble II) during 2005 to 2006. Furthermore, they obtained a certification in Blockchain: Foundations and Use Cases from Coursera in October 2018.
