Andrzej Swistowski

Andrzej Swistowski has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Andrzej is currently working as the Director of Cell Sciences at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc since September 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director of Cell Sciences at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc from February 2015 to September 2020.

Before joining Ultragenyx, Andrzej worked at XCell Science Inc as the Associate Director of Operations from April 2014 to February 2015. Andrzej also held the position of Senior Scientist at XCell Science Inc from May 2012 to April 2014. In this role, they led the Research and Development department and specialized in stem cell technologies, focusing on the differentiation of iPSCs and hESCs into various cell types of the central and peripheral nervous systems.

Furthermore, Andrzej gained experience at BioMarin as a Scientist 1 from February 2011 to June 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Buck Institute for Age Research, first from June 2005 to September 2007, and then from September 2007 to February 2011.

Andrzej began their career as a Ph.D. Student at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research from November 2001 to May 2005.

Andrzej Swistowski holds a Ph.D. in functional genomics and biochemistry from Technische Universität Braunschweig, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Msc in Biotechnology at the University of Wroclaw from 1996 to 2001.
