Manager - Engagement at UN Climate Change

Conor Barry has extensive experience in climate change and environmental management, currently serving as the Manager of Engagement at UN Climate Change since November 2005, where responsibilities include managing stakeholder engagement in the UNFCCC process. Key roles at UN Climate Change have included Team Lead for Strategy Development, where significant achievements included the design of the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action and contributions to COP26 outcomes, as well as leading initiatives on market mechanisms under the Paris Agreement. Prior positions also include managing the Regional Collaboration Centre Initiative and enhancing stakeholder interactions with the CDM Executive Board. Conor Barry previously held a Senior Manager position at the Irish Environmental Protection Agency, focusing on the EU Emissions Trading System, and has a background as an Environmental Economist with the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government. Educational credentials encompass a Doctor's Degree in Governance from the National University of Ireland and a Master's in Environmental Economics from University College Dublin.
