Patrick Munyaneza is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate change and financial management. As the Regional Expert on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement at UN Climate Change since 2023, Patrick focuses on international climate agreements. Previously, from May 2021 to December 2022, Patrick served as the Global Carbon Market Advisor at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, promoting carbon pricing in various countries. Other roles include Planning, Evaluation, and Communication Officer at GIZ (2016-2020), Sub National Finance Advisor at GIZ (2016-2018), Planning Manager at Grupo Soico (2014), and Head of Finance at Child Helpline Mozambique (2010-2013). Educational qualifications include a Master's in Development Economics from Universidad de León and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Business Administration from University of Eduardo Mondlane and St Thomas University of Mozambique, respectively.
