Melvin Evers

Melvin Evers has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Melvin started their career at Prosensa Therapeutics in 2013 as a Postdoctoraal onderzoeker. Melvin then joined Leiden University Medical Center as a PhD Student and later worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they focused on setting up a lab for neural induction of iPS cells and executing stereotactic surgeries in mice. In 2016, Melvin joined uniQure as a Scientist and steadily progressed through roles such as Senior Scientist, Associate Director, and Sr. Director Preclinical Biology. As of July 2021, they hold the position of Vice President of Research at uniQure.

Melvin Evers obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Utrecht University in 2006. Melvin then pursued a Master's degree in the same field at Utrecht University between 2006 and 2008. Later, from 2008 to 2014, they attended Universiteit Leiden, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Genetics.
