Leila Bouchebouba Brodin is an experienced professional in security sector reform and political affairs, currently serving as the Head of Security Sector Reform Section and PCVE adviser at the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) since May 2019. Prior experience includes roles such as Senior Security Sector Reform Officer and Officer in Charge of the SSR Unit at MONUSCO between September 2015 and May 2019, and Team Leader of the EUTANS Counter Violent Extremism project at the European Commission from November 2014 to June 2015. Leila's extensive background also features leadership positions with the United Nations in Kidal and Kunduz, as well as advisory roles within the European Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in European Policies from the College of Europe, a Certificate in Refugees and Apatrid Laws from Université Paul Valéry - Montpellier III, and a Master of Arts in Political Sciences and Economics from Sciences Po Grenoble.
