Gabriel Alves de Faria

Gabriel Alves de Faria is a Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Human Rights, specializing in the LGBTI cluster of the Women's Human Rights and Gender Section since November 2021, providing technical support on advocacy and monitoring for LGBTI rights. With a background that includes serving as a Public Information Officer for the OHCHR LGBTI Cluster, and a two-month deployment in Guinea-Bissau to monitor human rights during legislative elections, Gabriel has extensive experience in human rights advocacy. Previous roles include Secretary General of the EMAlumni Association, Human Rights Independent Consultant, Co-Founder of Not Only Voices, and Field Coordinator with the UN in the Congo. Educational qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM) from the Geneva Academy and several degrees in Public International Law and Human Rights from prestigious institutions.
