Maria Garcia Torrente

Maria Garcia Torrente is an experienced Human Rights Officer currently serving at the United Nations Human Rights since September 2017, with prior roles including Associate Human Rights Officer and Assistant Human Rights Officer. Maria has worked on the secretariat of the UN Working Group on business and human rights and has been involved with the Special Procedures Branch and the Sustainable Human Development Section. Previous experience includes a Pan European Seal Trainee position at EUIPO and multiple internships within the UN and various consulates. Maria holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from CEU Cardenal Herrera University, complemented by a diverse educational background in international law, business administration, and diplomatic studies across several institutions, including the Diplomatic School of Spain and the University of Valencia.
