Nick Macdonald

VP, Liquid Hydrogen Engineering at Universal Hydrogen

Nick Macdonald is the current VP of Liquid Hydrogen Engineering at Universal Hydrogen. Prior to this, they were the Director of Engineering at Universal Hydrogen from January 2022 to November 2022. Before that, they were the Managing Director at Airbus ExO Services SAS from March 2020 to November 2021. Nick was also the Head of fello'fly demonstrator at Airbus from September 2018 to December 2021. In this role, they led the award-winning team that made history by flying two Airbus A350s across the Atlantic in formation to demonstrate significant fuel savings. Prior to that, they were the Customer Support Director at Singapore Airlines Group from August 2015 to August 2018.

Nick Macdonald studied physics at Imperial College London, where they earned an MSci degree. Nick then spent a year on exchange at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) doing research in thermonuclear fusion. Nick is also certified by the EASA - European Aviation Safety Agency in Private Pilot Licence.
