Jérôme Barré has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of atmospheric research. Jérôme started their career as a PhD candidate at Meteo France in 2009 and completed their doctoral studies in 2012. Following that, they joined NCAR - The National Center for Atmospheric Research as a Post Doctoral Fellow from January 2013 to August 2014. Jérôme then transitioned into the role of Project Scientist at NCAR from August 2014 to August 2017. In 2017, they joined the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts as a Data assimilation scientist, where they worked until October 2021. Currently, they serve as the Data assimilation Lead Scientist at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, starting from October 2021.
Jérôme Barré holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Atmospheric Chemistry and Climatology, which they earned from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Master's Degree in Meteorology, Climate, and Remote Sensing at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2006 to 2008. Jérôme also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the same university from 2003 to 2005. Prior to pursuing higher education, Jérôme attended Francs Bourgeois, although specific details regarding the degree or field of study are unknown.
