Samaiyah Farid is a Project Scientist at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research since August 2022, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Yale University focusing on solar coronal jets and subsurface flows using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques. Farid served as a Pre-doctoral Fellow at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, specializing in magnetic reconnection and plasma acceleration, and has a strong background in managing solar physics projects and developing software for data analysis from previous roles at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Vanderbilt University, an MS in Physics with a Space Science Specialization from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, and a BS in Physics & Mathematics with a Space Science Concentration from Alabama A&M University. Summer research experiences at various institutions contributed to foundational skills and published work in the field of precision astronomy.
