Arturo Alvarado

Arturo Alvarado, MBA-HM, BSN, RN, CPHQ, AMB-BC has a diverse work experience spanning several healthcare organizations. Arturo currently serves as the Director of Hospitalists & Cardiovascular Services at University Health, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the Practice Manager for Ambulatory Cardiovascular Services at the same institution, starting in December 2022 and ending in May 2023. Before moving into management roles, Arturo worked as the Nurse Clinic Supervisor for Vascular Surgery at University Health from April 2020 to December 2022.

Apart from their work at University Health, Arturo has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at Galen College of Nursing since February 2023. In the past, they served as a Naval Officer - Critical Care Nurse in the US Navy Reserve, starting in August 2017. Before this, they held various positions at Methodist Healthcare System, including Nurse Director of the Cardiovascular ICU, Nurse Manager of the Surgical ICU, and ICU/House Supervisor/PICC Registered Nurse. Arturo started their career as a Combat Medic in the United States Army Reserve from March 2008 to March 2016. Prior to this, they worked as a Direct Care Staff member at Gulf Bend Center from September 2005 to November 2008.

Arturo Alvarado has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. Arturo also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Health Care Administration/Management from Western Governors University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) from the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN), Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association. Arturo is also a Registered Nurse licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing. Moreover, they have certifications in TNCC (Emergency Nurses Association) and Trauma Combat Casualty Care - TCCC from the US Navy.
