Michael Gardner MD, MPH, MMM, CPE has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Michael is currently serving as the Vice President of Women and Children's Services at University Health since January 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Clinical Professor at Roseman University School of Medicine starting from March 2022. From November 2017 to September 2022, they worked at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV in various roles, including Associate Dean for Strategy and Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Strategy. Michael also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Healthcare Policy and Administration from August 2020 to September 2022. Before their positions at UNLV, they were the CEO and President of UNLV Medicine from November 2017 to November 2021. Prior to that, they held executive positions at Harris Health System and Loma Linda University, School of Medicine. At Harris Health System, they were the Executive Vice President of Ambulatory Care, overseeing outpatient services and serving more than 300,000 patients annually. At Loma Linda University, they were the Professor and Chief of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Director of the Perinatal Institute. Before that, they served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma/Tulsa and as the Medical Director of Women's Health Center at Hillcrest Healthcare System. Michael started their career at Emory University School of Medicine as the Leach Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Chief of Ob/Gyn at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Michael Gardner MD, MPH, MMM, CPE completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 1981 to 1985. Michael went on to pursue a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1985 to 1989 at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. In 1993 to 1995, they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health Policy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, along with a Fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine from the same institution. Later, in 2013 to 2014, they earned a Master of Medical Management degree in Physician Executive from the University of Southern California.

Michael holds additional certifications from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), obtained in December 1991, and has obtained medical licenses in Nevada, California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
