Kirsty Bright

Trustee at University of Bristol

Kirsty Bright joined the University of Bristol in December 2010 as Year 1 Administrative Lead for the MBChB programme in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (later Bristol Medical School), and her current role is Medical Undergraduate Tariff Manager, working in collaboration with Health Education England to manage a £28M annual budget for clinical placements for undergraduate medical students. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees in June 2021.

Kirsty has a BA(Hons) degree in American Studies and Art from the University of Reading, an HND in Horticulture (Hadlow College, Kent) and management qualifications. Before coming to the University, she worked in the Civil Service (Ministry of Defence; Royal Navy), retail management (Sainsburys Homebase), in the charity sector and in finance for various IT companies. She served for several years as a School Governor, has lived in Bristol for the past 30 years and enjoys mountain-biking, sky-diving, knitting and camping.

Kirsty has a keen interest in embracing all aspects of diversity within both the staff and student community and is looking forward to using her knowledge and experience in helping the University achieve its strategic aims over the coming years.
