Jane Andrewartha

Trustee at University of London

Jane is a senior partner at global law firm Clyde & Co where she has worked since graduating from Exeter University and completing the Law Society exams in 1974.

She is a litigation and arbitration specialist handling major international and multi-party disputes. Since the mid-1990s she has also developed an extensive practice as mediator of disputes across a wide range of sectors including health, education, employment and construction matters.

Jane regularly delivers practitioner's lectures at the University of Southampton. She has also lectured at UCL, and Qatar Universities. She is associated with a number of student events which include the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot competition held by Murdoch University School of Law Australia (the last three years in the UK, Singapore and Australia), the University of Southampton Insurance Law Moot (2015 and 2016) and the University of Westminster Criminal Law Moot, 2014.

Jane was elected as a member of Clyde & Co's first Management Board on which she served, for 8 years, as Finance Partner. She is also a former Director of CEDR, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, a not for profit organisation. Since 2013 she has been the non-executive Chair of the Board of Munich Re Syndicate Limited.
