Chukwudalu Uchenna Uba

Chukwudalu Uchenna Uba, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior/Lead Metallurgical and Materials Research and Development Scientist at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since August 2019. In this role, significant improvements in metal fabrication and performance prediction of metallic materials have been achieved through the development of physics-based frameworks, enhancing manufacturing techniques by 10%. Uba has also advanced the lab’s research capacity by 20% through strategic material and process selection for various alloys using advanced software tools. Previous experience includes a role as a Senior Materials R&D Scientist, where operational improvements were made in thin film deposition processes. Uba's engineering education includes a Ph.D. and an MEng from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the African University of Science and Technology, and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
