Vijay Raghavan is a distinguished academic serving as the Alfred and Helen Lamson/BORSF Endowed Professor in Computer Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette since February 2012, where responsibilities include graduate teaching, research, and co-directing the Laboratory for Internet Computing. Raghavan is also the Director of the NSF Visual and Decision Informatics I/UCRC, focusing on industry-driven research collaboration. As Editor-in-Chief for the journal Web Intelligence and Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Internet Technology, Raghavan contributes significantly to scholarly publishing. Additional roles include co-editing significant works on Big Data Analytics and Cognitive Computing, serving on the 2015 IEEE BigData Conference Steering Committee, and participating as a panelist for the National Science Foundation since 1986. Raghavan holds a PhD in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, an MBA from McMaster University, and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
