Sanjay Gupta

Sanjay Gupta currently serves as a Research Scientist II - Exploration and Validation at Spogen Biotec d/b/a Elemental Enzymes since August 2023 and as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office since June 2022. Additionally, Sanjay Gupta has maintained a role as a Senior Researcher at the University of Minnesota since January 2013, focusing on physiological and biochemical regulations in plants to enhance production and nutritional quality. Previous positions include Assistant Professor at the University of Idaho from November 2008 to 2012, where programs on potato post-harvest physiology were established, and Research Associate at the University of Minnesota from February 1998 to November 2008, working on enzymatic assays in potatoes. The early career includes a role as a McKnight Foundation Research Fellow at CSIRO Plant Industry, contributing to transformation procedures in legumes. Sanjay Gupta holds a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from Kanpur University, completed in 1991.
