Jairos Kangira is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in higher education, currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Professor at the University of Namibia since July 2010. In addition to being the Head of the Department of Language and Literature Studies, Jairos Kangira is the founding Chief Editor of the Journal for Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences, overseeing the peer review process and publication schedule. Previously, Jairos Kangira held senior academic positions at the Polytechnic of Namibia and Zimbabwe Open University, and served as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Zimbabwe. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from the University of Cape Town, an M.Phil. in Linguistics, and a strong focus on research management in higher education from the University of Melbourne, among others. Notably, Jairos Kangira designed and launched several degree programs and played a key role in establishing the Namibia Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Association.
