James Downs

James Downs is an experienced IT professional currently serving as a Platform Engineer II at the University of North Texas System since November 2018. In this role, James has led the migration to Azure and manages multiple web farms as well as over 40 servers operating on LAMP and LEMP stacks. Automation of operations through tools such as Python, Jenkins, Ansible, and GitLab is a key focus. Prior to this position, James worked at The Container Store as a Systems Support Specialist and held various roles in desktop support at Dallas Baptist University, where responsibilities included managing identities in Active Directory and supporting Office 365 provisioning. James holds a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from Dallas Baptist University.
