Ian Wilson has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Ian started their career in 1994 as a Developer and Project Manager at the Medical Research Council, where they designed and developed a software application that had a significant impact on neonatal hearing screening and public health policy in the UK. Ian then joined the University of Nottingham in 1998 as an Analyst and Policy Officer, taking on responsibilities such as budget management and committee secretary duties. Over the years, Ian progressed within the university, holding roles such as Head of Research Information Systems, Portal Team Leader, and Web Technologies Team Leader. In these positions, they managed teams and oversaw the delivery of enterprise services, including web and mobile applications. Their expertise in business analysis and change management led him to become a Senior Business Analyst and later the Lead Analyst of the Academic Portfolio Team, where they led projects and coached colleagues on delivering efficiency and effectiveness. Ian's most recent position at the University of Nottingham is the Acting Head of Analysis and Business Change, where they manage a team during challenging times.
Ian Wilson received a B.Med.Sci degree in Medicine from the University of Nottingham in 1989. Ian also obtained several certifications including a Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) in 2018, a Professional Certificate in Agile Business Analysis from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2018, and a Foundation Certificate in Business Change from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2016.
