Leonie Mathers has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Leonie started their career in 2009 as a Campaigns and Constituency Manager for Ed Balls MP. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a Senior Parliamentary Assistant for Yvette Cooper MP. In 2016, Mathers joined the University of Nottingham, where they held various roles including Political and Public Affairs Officer, Head of Public Affairs, and currently, Deputy Director, Communications & Advocacy (Public Affairs). Additionally, they are also a Trustee at Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services since December 2021.
Leonie Mathers completed their education at the University of Leeds from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Politics and Parliamentary Studies. Prior to that, they attended Holgate School in Hucknall from 1994 to 1999, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. In addition to their education, Leonie Mathers obtained a PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate in Project Management in August 2016 from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.
