Ashwini Karmarkar

Ashwini Karmarkar is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina since August 2025, having previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory from September 2022 to August 2025. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University from May 2018 to September 2022 and at Columbia University in the City of New York from January 2017 to December 2017. Additional positions held include Grader at Columbia University and Research Assistant at PES University from January 2015 to January 2016, as well as a Summer Intern at the Indian Institute of Science in May 2014. Ashwini Karmarkar holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University (2018-2022), an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University (2016-2018), and a Bachelor's of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from PES University (2012-2016).
