Clay Owen is a seasoned professional in communications and media with a robust career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a Professor of Practice at the University of South Carolina since August 2024, Clay Owen focuses on educating aspiring writers and fostering partnerships within the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Prior to this role, Clay Owen spent 26 years at AT&T, achieving the position of Director of Public Relations and overseeing critical initiatives in media relations, executive communications, and product storytelling, among others. Earlier career highlights include serving as a Senior Producer at CNN, where Clay Owen launched the program World Business Today and produced significant live events. Clay Owen holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Kent and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina.
