Judy Van Horn has a comprehensive and extensive work experience in athletics administration. Judy began their career at Central Michigan University College of Business Administration as a Compliance Coordinator and later served as an Assistant Coordinator for Compliance. Judy then moved on to Michigan State University, where they worked as an Assistant Athletics Director, overseeing the Office of Compliance Services and handling high-stakes issues. Following this, they joined the University of Michigan as an Associate Athletic Director/SWA, where they provided executive leadership and oversaw the Compliance Services Office. Currently, Judy is working at the University of South Carolina, holding various roles such as Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Operations & Risk Management, Executive Associate Athletics Director/SWA, and Senior Associate Athletics Director/SWA. In these roles, they have been responsible for oversight, strategic planning, and the coordination of Title IX implementation. Additionally, they have founded and directed the Michigan Girls & Women in Sports Event, which focused on promoting National Girls & Women in Sports Day and recognizing outstanding female athletes in the state of Michigan.
Judy Van Horn is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy at the University of South Carolina, expected to be completed by 2025. Judy previously obtained a BS in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Central Michigan University. Judy also holds a Masters of Arts in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University.
