Bruce J. Brown

Bruce J. Brown, Dr.P.H., serves as the Associate Vice President for Safety and Business Continuity. He leads a diverse department focused on client service with numerous programs, including hazard-specific safety programs (biological, chemical, fire, occupational, laser, and radiation), environmental compliance, emergency management, business continuity, and risk and insurance services inclusive of workers’ compensation. Dr. Brown, who joined UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2014, has 20 years of experience providing safety services, emergency management oversight, and risk management and insurance support for academic medical centers. Prior to his role at UT Southwestern, he was the Director for Environmental Health and Safety at the UT Health Science Center at Houston. He earned his doctorate from the UT Health School of Public Health in Houston, where he maintains an academic affiliation, and completed his undergraduate work at UT Austin.
