Titus K. Kariuki has a diverse work experience beginning in 2019. At Highline College, they served as a Financial Aid Office Assistant, where they kept financial records of 5320 students eligible for Financial Aid and awarded over 3660 students annually with Pell and State Grants awards totaling to $23. In 2021, they joined National Society of Black Engineers as their Region VI- Secretary and Telecommunications Chair. During their tenure, they planned two virtual conferences over the Fall 2021 term that garnered 456 attendees in total over the three days and sent over 10,000 newsletters and emails in three months to the 2771 NSBE Region VI members in preparation for the conferences. Titus also constructed two websites using Google Sites for informational and logistical purposes during the conventions. In 2021, they also joined Univus as a US Lead Test User, where they recruited 47 US beta-testers via direct outreach and social media networking. In 2022, they joined The Takeoff Institute as a Summer Fellow, where they provided resources and mentorship specifically tailored for Black undergraduate students. In 2021, they also joined AmeriCorps as a Seattle MESA Program Assistant, where they organized STEM projects and seminars for 9 middle and high schools in the Seattle, Mukilteo, Tukwila, Renton, and Highline School Districts, totaling 521 students served. In 2020, they joined Roosevelt Network as the 2021-2022 West Region New Chapter Coordinator, where they helped set up new Roosevelt Chapters across the Western Region of the United States and recruited 109 students throughout the region. Titus also served as a 2020-2021 Forge Fellow, where they pieced together a comprehensive policy proposal on King County administering Seattle's Technology Matching Fund (TMF) to qualifying non-profits countywide. In 2021, they joined the University of Washington as their Vice President for the National Society of Black Engineers, where they systematically planned general body meetings, most of them with recruiters, and brought 12 recruiters on campus so far. Titus also served as a Washington Directed Research Program (WDRP)- Mathematics Research Fellow, where they conducted Mathematics graduate-level advance research.
Titus K. Kariuki has a diverse educational background. Titus began their studies in 2018 at Highline College, where they earned an Associate of Science in Computer Science in 2020. Titus then moved on to the University of Washington, where they are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, which they are expected to complete in 2022. During this time, they also completed a number of certifications, including an Excel 2016: Core Data Analysis, Manipulation, and Presentation certification from Wall Street Prep in July 2022, an edX Verified Certificate for Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles from edX in July 2022, and a Foundations of Leadership Certificate 1 from The National Society of Leadership and Success in May 2022.
