Yuichi Sugawara

Yuichi Sugawara is a seasoned professional in international relations, currently serving as a Senior Project Support Officer at UNOPS since July 2022, within the Tokyo Liaison Office, Partnerships and Liaison Group. Prior experience includes roles such as First Secretary and Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Japan in South Sudan, and Associate Civil Affairs Officer at the United Nations Headquarters. Sugawara has extensive experience in peacekeeping and cooperation, having worked in various capacities within the United Nations and the Japanese government, including as Programme Advisor at the Cabinet Office and Liaison and Coordination Officer for the Triangular Partnership Project. Educationally, Sugawara is currently pursuing further studies at The University of Tokyo and holds advanced degrees in Political Science and Conflict Resolution from Waseda University and the University of Bradford.
