Kartik Gupta

Kartik Gupta has a diverse range of work experience in the field of visual effects. Kartik most recently worked as a VFX Lead Artist at Untold Studios, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they were an Assets Technical Director at Axis Studios from March 2021 to April 2022. In this role, they were involved in modeling, texturing, and shading work, as well as researching and testing new workflows and collaborating with artists and supervisors.

From August 2020 to March 2021, Kartik worked as a Senior 3D Generalist at Moving Picture Company, where they used Houdini to explore procedural workflows and took ownership of shots from modeling to lighting. Before that, they were an Asset Artist at Moving Picture Company from August 2017 to March 2019, working on a variety of photorealistic and stylized assets.

Kartik also has experience at Polygon Pictures as a Look Development Artist, where they worked on animated feature films and was responsible for shading and texturing assets. Additionally, they worked as a remote freelance 3D artist at Nikopicto, completing asset modeling and texturing for an advertisement.

Kartik began their career at Xentrix Studios, where they worked as a Look Development Technical Artist, focusing on shading and rendering assets for animated TV series and ride films. Prior to that, they worked as an intern lighting artist at Xentrix Studios and as an intern 3D artist at Green Forest Animation.

Throughout their career, Kartik has demonstrated expertise in modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and rendering, as well as a strong interest in procedural workflows and the development of artist-friendly tools.

Kartik Gupta began their education in 2009 at the Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, where they pursued an Advanced Diploma in 3D Animation. Kartik completed their studies in 2011. From 2011 to 2014, Kartik attended Rubika and obtained an International Masters in Digital Direction. The field of study for both their degrees is unspecified.
