Pete Lumbis

Pete Lumbis has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Pete is currently working at Upbound as a Principal Documentation Engineer since April 2022. Prior to that, Pete worked at NVIDIA as the Director of Technical Marketing - DPU and DOCA, where they contributed to the development of DPU automations and worked on improving usability and growing the developer ecosystem.

Before joining NVIDIA, Pete held various roles at Cumulus Networks, including Director of Technical Marketing and Documentation, Technical Marketing Engineer, and Customer Solutions Engineer. During their time at Cumulus Networks, they built a full "documentation as code" pipeline and assisted customers with automating network deployments using tools like Ansible and Puppet.

Pete began their career at Cisco Systems, where they worked as a Routing Protocols Technical Leader and a TAC Customer Support Engineer, handling critical customer issues related to routing protocols and providing support for firewall products. Pete also worked briefly at IP Soft as a Network Engineer.

In addition to their roles in the tech industry, Pete gained experience as a Lab Intern at Cisco Systems, an Information Systems Intern at Sasaki Associates, and a Web Developer/Systems Administrator at Crescent Systems.

Overall, Pete Lumbis has demonstrated expertise in technical marketing, documentation, network architecture, automation, and customer support throughout their career.

Pete Lumbis completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. In addition to their degree, Pete has obtained several certifications from Cisco. Pete achieved their CCNP certification in December 2006, followed by CCIP in March 2010. Pete further enhanced their expertise by obtaining the CCIE Routing and Switching #28677 designation in April 2011. Pete'smost recent certification is Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), which they obtained in March 2012.
