Fidel Esquivel

Fidel Esquivel is a highly accomplished engineer and entrepreneur with expertise in robotics, automation, and sustainable technology. Co-Founder of UpCircle and the Autonomous River Cleanup (ARC) project, Fidel focuses on combating plastic pollution globally through innovative AI solutions and robotic systems. At ETH Zürich, as the ARC Project Lead, Fidel directs efforts to eradicate ocean-bound plastic waste, while also contributing as a Teaching Assistant in Robotics. Prior experience includes roles at Cummins Inc. as a Design Engineer, and various undergraduate research positions in nonlinear controls and fluid mechanics. Educated at institutions such as ETH Zürich and the University of Florida, Fidel holds degrees in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Aerospace Engineering.
