James Underwood

James Underwood has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. James started their career in 2003 as a Mac Genius at Apple Computer, where they worked until 2008. During this time, they gained expertise in Macintosh hardware and software.

From 2008 to 2011, James worked as an Independent Macintosh IT Consultant, providing consulting services for various clients. James then joined the Several Sources Foundation in 2003 as a Media Coordinator, where they managed digital media for fundraising efforts and took on videography and photography responsibilities.

In 2013, James became an IT Administrator at Success Academy Charter Schools. James'sresponsibilities included managing Macintosh hardware and software distribution, overseeing the management of workstations and software imaging servers, and providing IT support to high-level executives.

From 2016 to 2018, James worked as a Director of Digital Operations and Marketing at RARE, brokered by NY Casa Group. James then joined Huge as a Senior IT Operations Admin, where they played a crucial role in IT operations.

In 2018, James joined Updater as an IT Solutions Manager, responsible for managing IT operations and implementing system automations. James'srole expanded to Senior Manager, Software & IT Operations in 2020, and they were later promoted to Director of IT in 2022.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated strong leadership skills, managed budgets, and executed hardware and software purchasing. James is experienced in various IT tools and technologies, including MDM (Jamf Pro), IDp/IAM (Okta), Google Workspace, Slack, and ITSM (FreshService). James has also implemented numerous automations to support business growth.

James Underwood completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Columbia University from 2008 to 2011. James also obtained additional certifications, including Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT) from Apple in October 2017 and Casper Certified Technician (CCT) from Jamf, although the month and year of obtaining the CCT certification are not specified.
