Pierre-Alexandre Lacerte has a diverse and extensive work experience. Pierre-Alexandre started their career in 2002 as a Tech Support Intern at the Canada Revenue Agency. Pierre-Alexandre then worked as a Software Developer Intern at CGI Group Inc. in 2006 and later as a Software Developer Intern at Ericsson Research in 2007.

In 2008, Lacerte returned to the Canada Revenue Agency as a Software Developer Intern for the Vessel Analysis and Targeting System. Pierre-Alexandre then joined Morgan Stanley in 2009, where they worked as a Software Developer for their Fixed Income division and later as a Software Developer for Content and Web Publishing Platforms.

Lacerte joined AppDirect in 2014, starting as a Senior Software Developer and eventually becoming the Director of Software Development. Pierre-Alexandre led various teams, including Platform, Data Analytics, and Production Engineering, and implemented initiatives to enhance productivity and communication.

In 2019, Lacerte joined Element AI as a Software Architect, where they contributed to different application development teams, focusing on architecture review, coding, and evolving the deployment pipeline. Pierre-Alexandre also created a Kubernetes CRD and Controller for dynamic data flow deployment.

Currently, Lacerte is a part of Upgrade, Inc. as the Senior Principal Software Developer and the Director of Software Development. Pierre-Alexandre oversees the software development process and leads the Software Development team.

Pierre-Alexandre Lacerte completed their education with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke between 2004 and 2008. Prior to that, they attended Sherbrooke College from 2003 to 2004, specializing in Pure and Applied Science. Pierre-Alexandre'searlier education was at Shawinigan College from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a DEC in Computer Science (Co-op).
