Horacio Prieto

Horacio Prieto has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Horacio started their career in 2007 as a J2EE consultant at the Centro Interamericano de Administraciones Tributarias (CIAT) and later worked as an international consultant for UNDP. In 2008, they became a core software engineer at Handsoft, where they focused on mobile telephony services and implemented SCM policies.

Horacio then moved on to become an international software consultant at CIAT and joined Concreta as an information technology consultant for AGESIC, where they worked on the Uruguayan Government portal. In 2010, Horacio served as a team lead at Altimetrik before joining AGESIC in 2011 as a member of the Architecture team for the web technologies division.

In 2012, they became the CTO of Farm.co Digital Agency, where they made technical decisions and managed offshore web development teams for US customers. Horacio then joined Globant in 2013 as a technical lead, leading agile development teams and working with full-stack web technologies.

Currently, Horacio is the VP of Engineering at UPshow, a position they have held since 2016. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in web technologies, software development, coaching, and technical decision-making.

Horacio Prieto completed their education from 1995 to 2006 at the Universidad de la República, where they earned a degree in Systems Engineering. Horacio focused on computer science and software engineering during their academic years. In addition, they obtained the certification of Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance in November 2015.
