Nathaniel Smuglin

Nathaniel Smuglin, CISSP, is currently serving as the Sr. Lead of Governance, Risk, and Compliance at Upwork since 2025. Previously, Nathaniel has held various roles, including Senior Technology Consultant at Protiviti and an Internal Compliance Security/Privacy position at IBM. Nathaniel also gained experience as a Digital Forensics Intern at the New York State Office of the Inspector General and as a Cyber Security Intern with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Nathaniel holds a degree in Digital Forensics from the University at Albany, SUNY, obtained in 2017.
