Robert W. Gast

While attending the Naval Academy, Bob received an athletic scholarship from Clemson. From there, Bob was a draft pick of the California Angels in 1980. Once Bob’s baseball career ended, he finished his education and received a BS degree in Finance, and went on to receive an MBA from the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. Bob has been in both a VP of Finance role and a CFO role for 20 years. Bob is well versed in banking and investment relationships and has written multiple articles on the team concept as it applies to business. Bob’s experience is deeply focused on building operational controls and reporting for risk-based areas in both private and public organizations. He has extensive experience in implementing new processes and systems designed to mitigate short and long-term risk drivers that have material impacts on organizations across many operating, revenue and cost channels. He is experienced in working with executive management teams and Boards to translate strategic objectives to operational success and implementations using repeatable methodologies to ensure reliable results. In addition to Bob’s media/entertainment, professional sports and technology experience, he also has notable experience in the financial services sector where he served as a Senior Advisor during the complex financial restatement projects at Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in Washington, DC. His career also includes notable experience in Treasury, cash management and high visibility multi-year capital budget projects.
