Mohit Santilal has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Mohit started their career at James Hutton Limited as an Applied Microbiologist, where they focused on bioethanol production using bacterial fermentation. Following this, they worked at the UCL Department of Biochemical Engineering as a Research Project Member, conducting research on enzymatic breakdown of agricultural waste. Mohit then joined Oxford BioMedica as a Biotechnologist, where they gained experience in manufacturing clinical-grade lentiviral vectors for cell therapy. After that, they worked at GSK as a Scientist and later as a Senior Scientist, leading downstream process development for gene therapies and providing expert input to project teams. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at Vaccitech, where they specialize in downstream process development and supports the manufacturing of viral vectors. Overall, Mohit Santilal has a strong background in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, with expertise in downstream process development, gene therapies, and viral vector manufacturing.
Mohit Santilal's education history begins with their enrollment at Alperton Community School from 2003 to 2010. Following this, from 2011 to 2014, they attended the University of Westminster where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. In 2014, they also participated in the International Synthetic and Systems Biology Summer School, specializing in Systems and Synthetic Biology. From 2015 to 2016, Mohit pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemical Engineering at UCL.
In addition to their formal education, Mohit has obtained several certifications. In November 2022, they completed the courses "Learning Microsoft Project," "Project Management Simplified," and "Six Sigma: White Belt," offered by LinkedIn. More recently, in January 2023, they achieved a certification in "Talent Management" from LinkedIn.
