George Shawver

George Shawver has a comprehensive background in health, safety, and environmental management, currently serving as Vice President of Safety at Valero Energy Corporation since April 2013. Shawver has held multiple leadership roles in health and safety, including Executive Director and Director positions focused on Emergency Preparedness and Environmental/Safety Affairs. Prior experience includes serving as Site Safety Manager at DuPont, Safety Manager at Marathon Petroleum Corporation, HES Representative at Bayer CropScience, and roles in safety and emergency response at ExxonMobil. Educational qualifications include a degree in Fire & Safety Engineering from Eastern Kentucky University, obtained between 1988 and 1992.
