Pete Gallagher

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Valley Health

Pete Gallagher has held various senior financial positions throughout their career. Pete started working as the Controller at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1988. In 2000, they became the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Bon Secours Virginia, where they managed a $1.9 billion organization comprising of seven hospitals and 11,000 employees. Pete maintained high operating margins through strategic decision-making and cost discipline. In 2012, Gallagher became the President of Manakin Associates, LLC. Pete then joined Valley Health in 2014, initially as the Senior Vice President & CFO, and later as the Senior VP & CFO.

Pete Gallagher holds an MBA degree in Business from Xavier University, which they obtained from 1987 to 1988. Pete also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accountancy from Miami University, which they completed from 1975 to 1979. Additionally, Pete has certifications as a Certified Public Accountant from the VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy, and as a Fellow from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
