Bamidele Suarau

Bamidele Suarau has a diverse work experience. Bamidele started their career as a Networking Intern at Integrata Security, where they worked on software tools to support hardware operations. Bamidele then worked as a Math Tutor at LRC, University of Maryland Baltimore County, providing individual and group math tutoring to students, including disabled students.

In 2015, Bamidele had several internships. Bamidele was a Software Engineering Intern at Medium.com, collaborating with experienced engineers to develop features for the Medium web application. Bamidele also participated in the CODE2040 Fellowship program, where they gained valuable experience.

Starting in 2016, Bamidele joined Lyft and took on various roles. Bamidele started as a Software Engineering Intern before becoming a Software Engineer, focusing on passenger acquisition and implementing experiments to improve user sign-ups and activations. Bamidele later became a Senior Software Engineer and served as the Subject Matter Expert for the Coupons platform, improving user experience, integrations, and reliability. In their most recent role at Lyft, Bamidele served as a Staff Software Engineer and took on the responsibility of being the Incentives Platform tech lead, overseeing the implementation and scaling of the internal incentives platform used across different use cases.

In 2018, Bamidele worked as an A* Member at /dev/color, an organization that helps Black software engineers grow in their careers.

Bamidele is currently working at Valon as a Staff Software Engineer.

Bamidele Suarau attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science.
