Heather Dunn

Heather Dunn has a strong background in healthcare finance and revenue cycle management. Heather currently holds the position of Vice President, Finance & Chief Revenue Cycle Officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In this role, they have been instrumental in leading the organization's revenue cycle operations and has successfully spearheaded the rebuilding of each component of the revenue cycle.

Prior to their current role, Heather worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center as the Executive Director, Revenue Operations and Clinical Coding, overseeing the patient revenue cycle and collaborating with various departments within the organization. Heather also served as the Director of Revenue Capture and Coding, where they focused on electronic charge capture and revenue integrity.

Before joining MD Anderson, Heather worked at Kaiser Permanente as a Senior Revenue Cycle Project Manager, where they led complex projects aimed at enhancing revenue cycle operations. Heather also directed the completion and review of specific audit controls and successfully implemented a Clinical Trial Billing process.

Earlier in their career, Heather served as the Manager of Financial Applications at Roper St. Francis, where they oversaw a team of IT professionals and implemented new systems to improve operational efficiency. Heather also worked at Concord Hospital as the Manager of Process Improvement and Education, where they led the implementation of key healthcare systems and managed the transition of physician offices to hospital provider-based billing.

Heather Dunn holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Technology from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from New England College. Heather also completed a medical coding program at NHTI, Concord's Community College in 2007. In 2015, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Health Informatics from New England College. Additionally, they hold certifications such as Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative from HFMA, and various Epic certifications.
