Nidesh Chitrakar

Nidesh Chitrakar has worked at six different companies since 2015. At Vapor IO, they have worked as both a Software Engineer and a Software Engineer Intern from 2018. As a Software Engineer, they worked on bringing new features, updated designs, and functional testing to the Kinetic Grid Portal, using JavaScript, React.js, Redux, and Python. As a Software Engineer Intern, they contributed to the frontend development and testing of Volutus Portal, using JavaScript, React.js, Redux, and CSS.

From 2015 to 2018, Nidesh Chitrakar worked at Bennington College. As a Student Programmer Intern, they collaborated with Computer Science faculty to create an advising hub application for faculty members, using Python, JavaScript, and React. Nidesh also worked as a Junior Technology Support Specialist.

In 2018, Nidesh Chitrakar worked at the Indiana Commission for Higher Education as a Data Research Intern, providing technical assistance to the data team with daily activities. Nidesh developed scripts to automate handling of data, and constructed tools to check integrity of data, using R, C#, Python, MSSQL, and Powershell.

In 2017, Nidesh Chitrakar worked at Naya Yatra Pvt. Ltd. as a Software Developer Intern, working on developing an efficient algorithm for stemming of Nepali words. Nidesh studied and analyzed extensive amount of Nepali literature and devised a corpus to determine stemming rules, using Javascript and Node.

In 2016, Nidesh Chitrakar worked at Bennington College Office of Communications as a Website Content Migration Assistant, reviewing assigned content for accuracy, style, and errors. Nidesh also assisted with content fact-checking and image research, and migrated assigned content to a new website via Drupal.

In 2015, Nidesh Chitrakar worked at Avenues Nepal Pvt. Ltd, Nepal as an Intern.

Nidesh Chitrakar attended St. Xavier's School, Jawalakhel, Nepal from 2001 to 2011. Nidesh then attended Rato Bangala School, Nepal from 2011 to 2013, where they earned A Levels in Maths and Sciences. Finally, they attended Bennington College from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics and Computer Science.
