Lene Vesterholm

Lene Vesterholm has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Lene currently works as a Senior Drilling Engineer at Vår Energi since April 2021. Prior to this, they held the same position at Aker BP ASA since April 2018, where they were responsible for leading drilling projects and designing casing for various wells. Lene also worked as an independent consultant from September 2007, specializing in drilling engineering. Lene was a Senior Drilling Engineer at NeoDrill AS from August 2017 to March 2018, focusing on project management and technology development. Lene served as a Lead Drilling Engineer at VNG Norge AS from October 2014 to July 2015, leading the drilling planning phase for the Pil & Bue development and designing wells for exploration purposes. Lene worked as a Well Advisor at Faroe Petroleum from June 2013 to May 2014, overseeing the drilling of an exploration well and managing joint venture operations. Lene also held the position of Lead Drilling Engineer at BG Group from September 2007 to May 2013, where they worked on subsea developments and explored HPHT drilling. Before that, they worked as a Senior Drilling Engineer at AGR from June 2005 to August 2007. Lene began their career at DONG Energy in 1997, where they held several positions, including drilling supervisor and petroleum engineer, overseeing a range of drilling operations and field development projects.

Lene Vesterholm completed their education with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Energy Systems from Aalborg University, where they studied from 1989 to 1992. Lene then pursued a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger, studying from 1992 to 1994. Lene Vesterholm has obtained additional certifications including IWCF, supervisor level 4 from the International Well Control Forum, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, offshore survival with HUET, and PRINCE2 Foundation.
