Thomas Oxley

Medical Director and Founder at VascuLab

Thomas Oxley has had a long and varied career in the medical field. From 2011 to 2012, they served as a Neurology Registrar at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Thomas then moved to the Alfred Hospital, where they held the same position from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they joined the Defence Science and Technology Organisation as a Major in the Australian Defence Force. That same year, they also began working at Melbourne Health as a Stroke Neurologist. In 2012, they founded SmartStent and served as its CEO. From 2012 to 2013, they were the Laboratory Head of the Vascular Bionics Catheter Laboratory at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. In 2015, they founded Vasculab Pty Ltd and served as its Medical Director. From 2015 to 2016, they were an Interventional Neurologist and Interventional Neurology Fellow at the Mount Sinai Health System. Finally, from 2016 to the present, they have been the CEO of Synchron, Inc., a neurovascular bioelectronics company.

Thomas Oxley's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience from the University of Melbourne (2012-2015), a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University (1999-2005), a Bachelor of Medical Science from Monash University (2002), and attendance at Melbourne Grammar.
