Ole Hans

Ole Hans has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ole is currently employed at Vay as an Operational Safety Engineer II, where they are involved in the development and implementation of a teledrive-first approach to autonomous driving. Prior to this, they worked as an Operational Safety Engineer I at Vay, where they contributed to the successful launch of a remotely driven vehicle on public streets.

Before joining Vay, Ole Hans held research assistant positions at Bergische Universität Wuppertal and Fraunhofer IKS, where they focused on traffic safety, reliability, and availability. Ole also completed their master's thesis in System Safety Engineering during their time at Fraunhofer IKS.

Additionally, Ole Hans gained industry experience as a working student at ESCRYPT, where they worked in quality management processes for cyber security solutions. Ole also completed internships at Robert Bosch and Institut für Qualität- und Zuverlässigkeitsmanagement GmbH, where they focused on vehicle systems safety and vehicle safety, respectively.

Earlier in their career, Ole Hans worked as a student assistant in quality management at WAS Wietmarscher Ambulanz- und Sonderfahrzeuge.

Currently, Ole is enrolled in a Doctor of Engineering program at Technische Universität Darmstadt. Ole'sresearch focuses on remote operation and remote driving for safe public street operation. Ole is expected to complete their doctorate in 2026.
